The most common way to travel to Salamanca from another country is by flying first to Madrid’s International Airport, called Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas.
We recommend booking your train or bus as soon as possible due to get a place in your preferred hour. You must book it in advance.
• From MADRID Barajas:
OPTION 1: By direct bus (preferred one)
You can travel to Salamanca from Barajas directly by bus. The bus company is MONBUS. There buses directly from T1 and T4 terminals.

OPTION 2: By train or bus from Madrid
You can travel:
- By bus from “Estación de Auto-Res”, at Méndez Álvaro. The bus company from Madrid is MONBUS: https://www.monbus.es/es
- By train from Chamartín or Principe Pío (it’s depend of the train, ALVIA or MD, respectively) https://www.renfe.com/es/en You can check the station when you buy a ticket but usually for ALVIA trains (the fastest), you travel to Chamartín-Clara Campoamor) and for MD train, you will arrive at Principe Pío Station.
To take it you can take a taxi (they have a fixed price from the airport EUR 30, between 15 and 30 minutes), use apps like Uber, Bolt or Cabify, or use the metro (approx. EUR 5, between 40 and 60 minutes, from line 8, “Aeropuerto” metro station). Also you can take the Cercanias from T4 to Chamartin station.
Metro from the Airport:
The Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport currently has four terminals. Metro de Madrid is conveniently accessible from any of them using the two stations located at the airport: Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 Station and Aeropuerto T4 Station, both on L8. The opening hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.
To travel on Metro de Madrid, you must have a Public Transport Card (TTP) loaded with a valid ticket type for the journey you wish to make. Multi Public Transport Card can be purchased from the ticket machines at any Metro station. The price of the card is €2.50.

• From VALLADOLID (Villanubla):
There are 11 km between Villanubla and Valladolid. Linecar runs buses that correspond to check-in and boarding times of Ryanair, as well as landing times between Valladolid bus station and Villanubla (airport). There are also taxis that charge a fixed rate of 14 euros. The bus station and the train station in Valladolid are 3 minutes apart by foot.

• Salamanca Bus or Train Station
The easy way after a long travel day to getting to your hotel is by taxi (between 6-10 euros). We can book for you if you need, or you can use the App “PideTaxi” but, no problem, there are a lot of taxis in the stations.
• BY TRAIN
Another option is to take a train from Lisbon, Irún/Hendaye or Port Bou/Cerbère (Spanish-French borders). If you arrive to Madrid’s Atocha Train Station, from there you can take a local train (“Cercanías”) to Chamartín.
